She has been a product manager, an account executive, a sales and marketing head, and the managing director of a major Thai advertising agency. Today she is an executive coach, intercultural consultant and leadership facilitator. She has delivered across fifteen countries for organisations including ExxonMobil, JPMorgan, Unilever, Procter and Gamble, Colgate-Palmolive, Standard Chartered, 3M, Nissan, Glico, PepsiCo and Tesco Lotus. She is natively bilingual in English and Thai and works in both. She is certified in MBTI, Insights Discovery and GlobeSmart, has completed the Presencing Foundation Program, and is a Founding Member of the Facilitators Forum of Thailand. ## What makes her position distinct Most people explaining Asian business culture to Western leaders learned it as adults, from outside. She is Thai, works in Thai, and has carried a profit and loss line rather than only advising on one. That combination is the practice. Her signature idea is the Thai word *kao jai* (เข้าใจ), which means to understand. It is built from *kao*, to enter, and *jai*, heart. To understand someone in Thai is not to have followed their argument, it is to have entered their heart. ## Services - [Executive coaching](https://marisachuawiwat.com/coaching): one to one work with senior leaders, in Bangkok and across Asia Pacific.
